Basically, the story revolves around Corwin who has regained his memory. After some lucky turn of events, he found out that he was a true prince of Amber.

Amber was known to be the real world, as all other worlds were made in his image, known as Shadows. Those of the royal family of Amber can traverse through the Shadows like they were adjacent rooms. Earth is one of them.

The story follows his path for vengence and the unfolding of a great wrong. When once he and his siblings plotted against one another, they now have to stand together to defend the land they loved most.

Nine Princes of Amber

Story begins on Earth where Corwin started to recollect his past. He managed to track down his sister Flora, who believed that he has regained his memory. Soon after, Random made an appearance, pursued by monsters out of Shadow. The three of them easily dispatched the monsters. Random thought that Corwin wanted to make an attempt for the throne and gave his support.

After walking the Pattern of Rebma, Corwin recalled his hatred for his brother and moved to take the throne from him. He failed, but at the height of his suffering, he released a Death Curse on Amber that opened the way to the Court of Chaos. An action that had very severe consequences.
